Ingredients

2 cups of wheat flour
3/4 cup grated paneer
1/2 cup frozen green peas
3-4 green chilies - finely chopped
1/4 cup cilantro finely chopped
half tsp cumin powder
half tsp corinader powder
half tsp turmeric powder
half tsp carom seeds
salt to taste
oil as needed
ghee (optional)
some more wheat flour for rolling

Procedure

Making dough for paratha

  • To make the paratha dough, Take wheat flour in mixing bowl. Add cumin powder, carom seeds and salt to taste. Knead the dough well. Consistency of dough should be soft like regular chapati/roti dough. Apply few drops of oil on dough and cover it. Let the dough rest for 20-30 minutes.
Matar Paneer Stuffing
  • Boil the frozen green peas in a microwave by putting enough water. Drain out water and mash them really well. Take grated paneer in a mixing bowl. Add mashed green peas, chopped green chilies, coriander powder, turmeric powder, chopped cilantro and salt to taste.
  • Mix all ingredient well and the stuffing is ready.
Roasting of a paratha
  • Take a big sized ball of dough and roll it like a small puri. Roll the edges, keeping middle part thick. Place medium sized ball of matar paneer stuffing onto it. Cover all sides of stuffing with edges of dough. Dip into flour and roll gently and evenly from all the sides. Keep paratha little thick than chapati/roti.
  • Roast paratha well from both sides. Apply ghee on it while roasting. Serve paratha with rayata, pickle or tomato ketchup.
