Cut Green beans - 2 cups
Beasn/Gram flour - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
Ginger and garlic - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Curry leaves - 8-10
Some Cilantro (finely chopped)
Red chili powder - 3/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Dry mango powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Pinch of asafoetida
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Lime juice - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Procedure


  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pinch of asafoetida and curry leaves. Add chopped onion and saute till translucent. Add ginger-garlic and saute for few seconds.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, dry mango powder, garam masala and salt to taste. Saute till oil starts to separate from spices.
  • Add green beans and mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5-6 minutes. Keep stirring in between.
  • Now, add besan and mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook for 3-4 minutes. Stir in between. Finally, add chopped cilantro and lime juice. Serve hot with chapati/roti.
