Ingredients
Besan / Gram flour - 1 cup
Cilantro / Kothimbir - 2 and half cups (finely chopped)
Rice flour - 2 tbsp
Ginger - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
Roasted peanuts powder - 1 tbsp (optional)
Carom seeds - 1 tsp
Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
sugar - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Procedure
- Add in all above ingredients in a mixing bowl. Start adding little water at a time and keep mixing the batter. Consistency of the batter should be thick.
- Pour this batter to a greased vessel. Steam for about 20 minutes in a pressure cooker. (Make sure you add enough water in a cooker and remove the whistle.)
- Insert a knife in the middle. if it comes out clean, then batter is cooked. Let it cool down.
- Cut into desired shape and deep fry them till they turn crispy and slight brown in color. Serve with tomato ketchup.
